The Hungarian real estate market has enormous potential in terms of digitalization. To take advantage of this, Hiventures, a member of the MFB Group, and ProptechZoom, which is building a digital real estate market ecosystem, launched an incubation program specifically embracing the property technology sector. At the end of the program, the teams chosen as the best can present themselves to the profession at the Proptech Hungary Conference, where, in addition to international digitization specialists, domestic TECH influencers and entrepreneurs will also present themselves.
The Hungarian market is slowly waking up
The proptech sector, which picked up in the second half of the last decade, innovates the market of commercial and residential real estate with innovative digital solutions: solutions that affect operations, material innovation, energy consumption, customer experience or safety technology, among others, that improve efficiency, reduce costs, while also validating sustainability aspects.
For the time being, the sector itself is not significant in Hungary: around half a hundred proptech companies are active on the market. Hiventures, which has already invested in more than 400 startups, wants to change this: the capital investor, which emphasizes market revitalization, development and education, is launching a joint incubation program with ProptechZoom, which plays the role of a bridge between the Hungarian real estate market and the tech sector, and which aims to digitize the market and develop the digital real estate market ecosystem. set as a goal. In addition, ProptechZoom is also organizing a comprehensive industry conference on May 25, 2022, where education of the real estate market is in focus: data-driven decision-making, the use of artificial intelligence in the real estate sector, the more efficient use of IoT devices, and the metaverse will also appear in the topic.
The organizers have a lot of business and professional experience
"The epidemic has awakened the real estate market's need for digital solutions. Proptech solutions can help optimize costs, open up new areas of income and, last but not least, make performance more measurable," adds Zoltán Kalmár, founder of ProptechZoom. Incidentally, this is also confirmed by ProptechZoom's recent survey from the beginning of the year, which ranks openness to proptech solutions and their cost implications among the factors most hindering the development of the sector.
"The low level of digitization of the domestic real estate market justifies the fact that we are emphatically increasing the willingness to innovate in this segment," says Sándor Varga-Tarr, director of Hiventures' Incubation Investment Program, who says that there is still a lot to be done in developing the sector's general corporate culture.
A targeted program with an invigorating effect
The newly launched Proptech Startup program and the Proptech Conference have set themselves no less a goal than to involve the Hungarian real estate sector in the global innovation and startup mainstream. The startup program is basically incubation in nature, and already operating proptech companies that are more mature than the idea phase can also participate. You can apply for the program with a team of at least 2 people by filling out an online form until April 17. The best can prepare to present their business with the help of two-way business training and professional mentoring provided by industry partners. The main aspects of the selection will be the innovative content and uniqueness of the solution, the relevant business and professional experience of the team members, the degree of scalability, and the degree of return. On May 25th, the best ones will be able to present themselves at the 3rd Proptech Hungary conference, a conference organized by ProptechZoom, together with proptech companies in a more mature phase.
The program covers the entire spectrum of the proptech sector: from sustainable development (optimization of operations, material innovation, energy efficiency) and the future of work (teleworking solutions, office spaces) to increasing the user experience (robotization, automation, smooth office processes) and smart through solutions (sensors, AR/VR devices) to security technology (exit and entry, facial recognition, parking, 3D modeling, artificial intelligence).
This year's proptech program was joined by several major players in the real estate market, providing the necessary professional background and voting for innovation and development: among others, DVM Group, Dome Facility, and Cushman Wakefield are also sponsoring both initiatives.
